Set on a Private Castle Estate

Located in the heart of rural Perthshire, nestling in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands and set on a Private Estate lies Dalnaglar Castle, a fairytale castle reputed to be a 7th scale model of Balmoral - built in 1864.

The river Shee which passes through the Estate contains the spawning grounds for Salmon from the river Tay and there is a private loch which provides the ideal habitat for wild brown trout. (Fishing for guests in the cottages is available by prior arrangement and at additional cost).

Glenshee, Balmoral Castle, Blair Atholl, House of Bruar

The Glenshee Ski Centre, located 10 miles from the estate, offers some of the best skiing in Scotland (subject, of course, to prevailing weather conditions). The Cottages are ideally placed for trips to Balmoral Castle, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl, The House of Bruar (the Harrods of Scotland) and Kirriemuir (the birthplace of JM Barrie of Peter Pan fame) as well as the cities of Perth and Dundee.

All of the cottages are of traditional stone construction and offer fantastic views over open countryside whilst benefiting from recent modernisation including double glazing, oil-fired central heating, power showers in every bathroom and well equipped kitchens. All prices include heating, electricity, bed linen & towels (ie no hidden extras). Cot / highchair provided upon request at no charge (subject to availability). Please note there are DVD players in each cottage but very poor or no television signal!

Pets are welcome although must be kept under control at all times. Shopping service available upon request.

Wester Caiplich Cottage - Sleeps 6, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom

This cottage provides generous accommodation for six people. Recently modernised, Wester Caiplich Caiplich benefits from oil-fired central heating and double-glazing enabling guests to stay warm even in the chilliest weather.

The entire cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Set over two floors the accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms (1 double and 2 twin rooms), 1 bathroom with a power shower over the bath, heated towel rail and razor point. The spacious sitting room has a large wood-burning stove and a wide selection of books, jigsaws and playing cards are provided.

French windows lead out to the south-facing garden that, in turn, looks out over fields to the river Shee. The separate kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven/hob, automatic washing machine, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. As with all the cottages a kettle barbeque is provided as well as garden furniture allowing guests to make the most of all alfresco opportunities.

The price of the accommodation includes all heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. Ironing facilities are provided as well as a hair dryer. A cot and highchair can also be provided at no extra cost (subject to availability). Pets are also welcome - provided that they are kept under control at all times.

Please note that, as with all the cottages on the estate, Wester Caiplich has been designated as a "No Smoking" cottage. We would ask you to comply with this request in the interests of all our guests.
